Jamie Redknapp expecting big things from West Ham attacker Felipe Anderson

Jamie Redknapp has made the bold prediction that West Ham attacker Felipe Anderson will reach the next level during the new season and expects £60million-plus bids for him next summer.

The left-winger enjoyed a strong debut campaign for the Hammers last year, as he settled quickly in English football following his move from Lazio.

He played 40 games across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and supplying five assists in return.

The Brazilian is set to be another key component in Manuel Pellegrini’s side this term, while they have made some eye-catching additions to the squad going forward too with the likes of Pablo Fornals and Sebastien Haller.

Pundit Redknapp is convinced though that Anderson will be the star man at the London Stadium and expects his stock to rise during the next year.

“The Brazilian is a superstar in waiting and I expect we’ll see that side of him this season. After losing Marko Arnautovic to the Chinese Super League, West Ham have a void to fill in attack,”

“I think Anderson, who cost £36million when he joined from Lazio last summer, is capable of reaching that next level.

“Sorry West Ham fans, but I think we’ll see Anderson enjoy a stand-out season and that big clubs will come calling with £60m-plus bids next summer.”

TBR’s View:

Anderson certainly looked a special talent during his debut West Ham campaign and is going to have better players alongside him this term.

But the South American dazzler will need to find consistency in his game to really take a next step and if he’s to reach a £60million-plus valuation.

Pellegrini certainly appears to be building an exceptionally strong Hammers squad and they have to be pushing for European football, which in the long run will help them keep their star players.
