Jamie O’Hara wants Daniel Levy to bring in out-of-work duo at Tottenham until the summer

Jamie O’Hara has told Sky Sports News (Monday, 1.10pm) that Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy should look to combine Harry Redknapp and Robbie Keane as a double management duo until the summer – following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Spurs confirmed the sacking of Mourinho on Monday morning, less than 18 months after the ex-Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager was sacked by Levy – hours after Spurs were included in the European Super League.

Ryan Mason has taken over from the Portuguese boss – with Spurs confirming he will take over Monday’s training. It remains to be seen how long he will continue to replace Mourinho after today’s practice, but he is likely to take charge this week.

It is an important week – not only do they have a Carabao Cup final on Sunday against Manchester City, but also a match against Southampton on Wednesday in the Premier League. O’Hara wants Redknapp back, and Keane as his sidekick.

“Mason is a great lad, he’s not ready to take over Spurs. I would get Harry Redknapp and Robbie Keane in until the end of the season, two big people that have been at Spurs. Get them in for the Cup final and then at the end of the season,” O’Hara said.

“I know Keane is doing his coaching badges, and then have a proper look. Nagelsmann? Klinsmann? Keep it simple, and bring in someone that knows the club – Keane and Redknapp would be the ideal scenario for me.

TBR’s view – Redknapp and Keane, a good idea?

Mason is well-liked at Spurs but if Spurs are to look at appointing a big name in the summer, they need a caretaker manager until then and Mason has very little experience – as O’Hara pinpoints. Are Redknapp and Keane the best options?

Well, not many will take a role until the end of the season. Certainly, many will not have the backing of Spurs fans to take over until then. But both Redknapp and Keane are well-liked and while the idea is a strange one, it is hard to argue against it.
