Jamie O’Hara suggests Tottenham are already missing Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur are already missing Christian Eriksen, according to the club’s former midfielder Jamie O’Hara.

The Denmark international left Spurs in January to join Inter Milan in a cut-price £17 million deal () with his contract expiring.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a seven-year stint in north London and clocked up over 300 appearances in all competitions for the club.

His exit, in the end, was both welcomed and lamented, but one thing most Spurs fans agree on is that on his day, he was one of Spurs’ best Premier League era signings and a top-class player on his day.

In the eyes of O’Hara, Tottenham have missed his playmaking abilities and creativity.

In a discussion about the prospect of signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, : “It’s a position we’ve lost since Christian Eriksen downed tools and wanted out.

“When Eriksen was at his peak, that was when Spurs played their best football, in my opinion. He was the one that made everything tick.”

It hasn’t been the best of starts for Eriksen at Inter, the player could even depart this window.

TBR’s View – Tottenham need players to step up

Most teams in world football would miss having a prime Eriksen, but Spurs do have capable replacements in their squad.

Dele Alli operates in advanced midfield positions but is more a goalscorer than a creator.

Giovani Lo Celso has good vision and Tanguy Ndombele can also execute line-splitting passes to find forwards.

There is talent in that squad, and Spurs don’t have to miss Eriksen if the right players start being more consistent.
