Jamie O’Hara says the referee did something that was a ‘disgrace’ during Tottenham v West Ham

Tottenham hammered West Ham United yesterday but Jamie O’Hara was still left fuming with one of the big talking points from the game.

Spurs were too good for the Hammers over 90 minutes and managed to stick four past Julen Lopetegui’s side to further increase the pressure on the Spaniard.

Of course, while some of Tottenham’s attacking play was very easy on the eye, there were also some flashpoints in the game as well.

One of those flash points came when Hammers forward Mohammed Kudus clashed with Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven, before being shown a red card for his role in the incident.

However, while Kudus deservedly saw red, defender Van de Ven was also booked despite appearing to do little wrong.

And that decision left Spurs fan and pundit, Jamie O’Hara, fuming.

Taking to X to vent his frustration at the decision, the opinionated and outspoken O’Hara did not mince his words.

Indeed, O’Hara labelled the referee a ‘disgrace’ for even bringing the Dutch defender into the conversation.

Another weekend of referees being at the centre of problems

While O’Hara often goes off about Tottenham and there is a bit of a bias there with some of his comments, he does have a point here.

The decision to show Van de Ven a card was borderline baffling and it means the Spurs man has needlessly added a yellow to the list now.

Once again, the Premier League referees are not covering themselves in glory and after incidents with Arsenal and Man City this weekend, it’s going to be another week of talking points in the media.

For Tottenham, it mattered little in the end. But on another day, this could have been a nightmare situation and affected the game.
