Jamie O’Hara says Manchester United have a player whose work rate is just embarrassing

TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has had a go at Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford for his ’embarrassingly bad’ work rate.

The Red Devils went through to the next round of the FA Cup after a late 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest last night. Casemiro scored the winner and has been receiving a ton of praise, but Rashford is at the end of all the criticism once again.

Jamie O’Hara criticises Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has really struggled at Manchester United this season.

The Englishman has scored just five goals in 32 appearances for the Red Devils, which is a terrible return, especially when you consider his numbers from last campaign.

Rasmus Hojlund‘s injury opened the door for Rashford to play up front for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest last night, but he didn’t have a great game at all.

It was really frustrating to watch him at times – not just for us, but for Jamie O’Hara as well, who had a real go at Rashford for his work rate and body language last night.

The pundit said on : “Someone tell me what’s happened to Marcus Rashford, please, because I look at him, Dean (Saunders), and I’m watching a player who looks like he hates football and he doesn’t hate football because I’ve seen him play football where he looks like he’s enjoying it.

“Now, I look at him and I’m like: ‘You’re playing for Man United, which is one of the biggest honours in football if not the biggest, and you’re strolling about like you don’t even want to be there’. When he gives the ball away, he doesn’t even try and win it back. There’s no urgency to his game. I’m like: ‘You’ve come through the academy at Man United and you’re strolling about like you couldn’t care about this football club at all’.

“He does make runs but he only wants to make a run when he thinks he’s going to get in on goal or he’s going to get the ball. His work rate off the ball is embarrassingly bad. It’s so bad.

“I have player cam on him now because I’m literally watching him going: ‘Do you really want to be at Man United? Do you really care? Do you understand?’ Surely he understands because he has been at that football club since he was a kid. He must know what it means to play for this football club.

“But, when I watch him, I’m like ‘you are doing such a disservice to your fans’.”

Marcus Rashford needs a new challenge

We don’t know what’s going on with Marcus Rashford, but it really does feel like he needs a new challenge to return to his best.

The 26-year-old’s love for Manchester United cannot be questioned. He has been there all his life and has produced some excellent moments for the Red Devils over the years.

However, everything comes to an end at some point, and we think the best move for all parties would be to see him pursue a new challenge in the summer.

PSG have been linked with a move to sign Rashford. We think that would be an excellent move for him.
