Jamie O’Hara says ‘disrespected’ Arsenal player is unfairly treated by so many
Arsenal will probably feel that it was only the decision to send Declan Rice off during the second-half against Brighton on Saturday which denied Mikel Arteta’s men going into the international break with a flawless record from their opening three games.
Ominously for their rivals, Arsenal have taken little time to pick up where they left off last season, with a clinical win over Wolves being followed by a hard-fought victory at Aston Villa. And Brighton have some happy memories from visits to the Emirat🌜es in recent years, so a point is not a terrible result in the circumstances.
But perhaps one player in Mikel Arteta‘s ranks has a bit of a point to 🐠prove over the comi🍷ng months.
It was an interesting transfer window for the Gunners, with Riccardo Calafiori proving to be the club’s only marquee signing for the large majority of the summer. However, they would also welcome Mikel Merino, Neto and Raheem Sterling before the deadline passed.
Jamie O’Hara says Arsenal signing is ‘so disrespected’
The trio are ♛still awaiting the chance to make their debut for💟 the club, but they all appear to be shrewd additions as Arsenal look to clear that hurdle which has proved to be just too big for them over the last two years.
Paul Merson believes Sterling cꦦould be an ‘amazing’ signing for Arse🐟nal. But perhaps the England international does not get the 𝓡full credit he deserves, with Jamie O’Hara telling talkSPORT that the winger is unfairly treated by so many as he r🍌eacted to his move to the Emirates.
“I like Sterling, I think Sterling’s a good deal, because Saka, for me, pla♔ys so much football and he will nee🍎d a rest, and there’ll be games in Europe where they might be cruising and you can get him off the pitch, you can put Sterling on, there might be a game where he come on and make something happen,” he said.

“Sterling’s got 100 Premier League goals, I think he’s so disrespected. And yeah, alright, th꧟ere are moments in games𓄧 where you go he should do better, but how many players are there like that?”
A no-brainer for Arsenal
There are reasons to criticise Arsenal’s window, as they did not sign the marquee striker which would boost their chances of winning the title. However, signing Sterling on a straight loan appears to have the p🅠otential to be a masterstroke.
Obviously, his wages are likely to be extremely high, but Arsenal are not locked into a deal which sees them sign him permanently next summer. ♈So they do not need to worry about how to offload the 29-year-old if𒁃 the move does not work out.
As O’Hara suggests, ༺Sterling is a player with 150 goals across the Premier League and Champions League during his career. He has won the league title on four occasions, and he can pass some of his experience onto the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martine෴lli.
It may be that the mo🐓ve does not🌠 pay off, but as things stand, it is almost impossible to have any criticism of this deal.
