Jamie O’Hara explains why he’s ‘jealous’ of Aston Villa as he slams Tottenham’s Daniel Levy after deadline day

Jamie O’Hara is more impressed with Aston Villa’s transfer activity than he is about Daniel Levy’s at Tottenham Hotspur.

Both Villa and Spurs were very active in the final days of the transfer window, and they managed to bring in a few players.

The two Premier League sides should be fairly happy with what they managed to do before Monday’s deadline, but O’Hara isn’t.

He has named two signings Aston Villa made in the winter window that Tottenham should’ve considered.

Tottenham fan Jamie O’Hara explains why he’s jealous of Aston Villa

Aston Villa pulled off some great deals in the winter transfer window.

Unai Emery’s side have signed Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia on permanent deals, while Axel Disasi, Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio have all come in on loan.

The last two players mentioned above are two huge names in football.

Rashford, despite his recent troubles, has been a great player in the Premier League, while Asensio was a superstar at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane.

They will both play for Aston Villa until the end of the season now, and O’Hara, who saw Spurs make just one attacking signing in the winter window, has admitted that he is jealous.

The pundit also had a go at Levy for the way he conducts business at Spurs.

He said on talkSPORT: “I say Aston Villa again, I’m a bit jealous actually of Villa. They signed Marcus Rashford, he could be a player. Asensio, has been a player but he has struggled a little bit with injuries.

“If he rocked up at Tottenham playing number 10, you’d go ‘what a player we’ve found’.

“This is the problem I’ve got. It’s always the same. I’m not convinced that Daniel Levy is actually going to take the club forward and make you a better team.

“Everyone’s saying: “You’ve got Mathys Tel over the line.” Alright, who is he? What has he done yet? That’s my issue!”

Tottenham should’ve tried to sign one Aston Villa player

Asensio is a terrific player and could make a big difference for Aston Villa in the coming months, but Tottenham didn’t need him.

Dejan Kulusevski has been one of Spurs’ best players this season when he has played as a number 10, and James Maddison is also still there to do a job when called upon.

The one Aston Villa player Tottenham should’ve tried to sign is Rashford before he sealed his move to Villa Park from Manchester United.

The Englishman is far more established than someone like Mathys Tel, and his experience in the Premier League could’ve helped Spurs.

Only time will tell if Ange Postecoglou made the right decision by signing Tel over someone like Rashford.
