Jamie Carragher shares how he feels whenever he watches Jack Grealish play for Man City this season
Until Jack Grealish returns to his brilliant best in a Manchester City shirt, his time at the Etihad Stadium will continue to divide opinion.
On one hand, Jack Grealish will be praised for playing an especially crucial role in City’s treble-winning season while also winning three Premier League titles on the bounce.
However, the Manchester City superstar’s critics will presumably stand their ground about the fact that apart from when his side won the treble, he failed to set the world alight for Pep Guardiola’s men.
Injuries and rotation have meant that even this season, the 29-year-old has been on the periphery of things at City.

So much so that Grealish has been told to leave Manchester City by Troy Deeney.
Jamie Carragher has chimed in on his view of the former Aston Villa attacker’s performances in a sky blue shirt.

Jamie Carragher says it is “sadwatching Jack Grealish at Man City
In the latest episode of The Overlap’s Fan Debate, Carragher admitted that he feels upset watching Grealish at Manchester City as he looks like a shadow of his former self.
The Liverpool legend said: “The first goal actually comes from Grealish, turning down an opportunity to run at Bruno Fernandes, you know from the corner it comes from./p>
“And you look at certain players, you almost think at times Pep is that in control of them, I mean, how can you criticise Pep Guardiola? It’s almost like that they lose a little bit of that something./p>
“And Thierry Henry made the point last night that he played in that position for him for Barcelona on the wing, he said he’s telling you what to do, he’s always behind you./p>
Jamie Carragher added: “But sometimes, you’ve just got to [go], no, I want to do this! You know you’ve got to feel it yourself and I think it is sad watching Jack Grealish in a Manchester City shirt./p>
“Listen, he’s won the treble, it’ll be remembered forever but you do feel like just go on and be yourself, do something./p>
The three-time Premier League winner has gone a year without scoring a goal for Manchester City, which further emphasise his struggles.
revealed in May that Pep Guardiola and Grealish had a conversation before the FA Cup final last season where it was agreed that the 2024/2025 campaign would be one where the latter had to redeem himself.

Is Jack Grealish going to leave Manchester City?
But so far, that has not been the case.
However, Grealish intends on staying at Manchester City, despite him having a forgettable season up until now.
It is believed that the Premier League winners are not looking to sell the England international either.
Pep Guardiola will be counting on Grealish to come good, with the youthful wing pairing of Savinho and Jeremy Doku still finding their feet at Manchester City while Oscar Bobb remains injured.
The decorated wideman could also be determined to right his wrongs and prove that his City career is far from over.
