It’s been a frenetic transfer deadline day at Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have been busy in the transfer window today. Tottenham bid for Marc Guehi as we head towards the close of play, while Spurs are trying to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea too.
Meanwhile, in an attacking sense, Spurs are set to sign Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich.
This is a ♒deal thꦡat carries with it a lot of intrigue.
On one hand, Spurs are bringing in an exciting 🦂19-year-old from one of the biggest clubs in the world, but, on the other hand, they’re now signing a striker who hasn’t scored a single goal this season.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (3/2/25 4:05PM), Jamie Carragher has been discussing this deal, and he says that this is a move that works 🔯well for all parties.

Carragher shared his verdict on this move.
The pundit says that Tel is a player wit﷽h plenty of potential and this move could do hi♏m the world of good as Tottenham create plenty of chances.
“I think to be fair to th༒e lad, given the option, if Arsenal and Manchester United were there, y🎃ou’d probably pick them ahead of Tottenham,’ Carragher said.
“Tottenham look like they might be getting him on loan now, and I think tha෴t’s a really good deal for both teams. He can look at Tottenham, Tottenham can 🐼look at him, we’re talking about a young player with potential.
“If he settles at Tottenham, he’ll definitely get lots oꦛf chances, they create chances, sco🤪re goals. I think this move works well for the player and the club. I think this works for everybody.”
Tottenham’s attack compared to Bayern Munich
Carragher says that this move could suit Tel really well because of how creative Spurs are,🌄 b🤪ut let’s not forget, Bayern Munich are one of the most dominant teams in Europe.
Indeed, in terms of chance creation, goalscoring and attacking, Bayern wipe the floor with Tottenh𒅌am.

Of course, Tel should get more minutes at Spurs than he did at Bayern, and, therefore, he should get💦 more chances to score, but the real♏ity is that his performances in front of goal haven’t been good enough this season, and he needs to step things up.
Tel will have to work harder for his chances at Spurs than he did at Bayern Munich. After all, he’s moving from the best team in Germany to the 14th-best team🧸 in England as things stand.
