Jamie Carragher picks only one Arsenal player in his Premier League team of the season so far

Jamie Carragher has named just one Arsenal player in his Premier League team of the season so far with the Gunners nine points off the top.

Mikel Arteta꧋ will be somewhat disappointed in his team’s liability to capitalise on Manchester City’s major falter this season and match Liverpool stride for stride. The Gunners find themselves having to make up quite a gap on the Reds heading into the second half of the season.

𒅌The North London club have not had many stars standout this term and Carragher believes there is just one who makes it into the Premier League team of the season so far.

Jamie Carragher names David Raya as only Arsenal pick

Jamie Carragher has named only David Raya from Arsenal in his Premier League team of the season so far. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba are all surprise ommissons.

Saka isn’t too much of a surprise given the league’s best player Mohamed Salah plays in the same position as him, however, Gabriel🍷 and Saliba are interesting players to be left out.

🐼The Brazilian has been particularly impressive this season, especially in the opposition’s penalty area having netted three times in the league. Virgil van Dijk and Nicola Milenkovic are the two defenders who are named ahead of the Arsenal duo.

♊Raya is certainly a worthy inclusion though having kept the second-most clean sheets in the league and Arsenal having conceded the fewest goals in the league.

Can David Raya win the Premier League Golden Glove?

⭕The race for the Premier League Golden Glove is really heating up with four shot-stoppers in contention. Matz Sels is the player currently leading the way with eight as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest look impenetrable right now.

💦Jordan Pickford is another strong candidate with seven clean sheets which is helping keep Everton clear of danger for now. David Raya is level with the England international with Andre Onana surprisingly just behind them with six.
