Jamie Carragher left incredibly impressed with £50m player Tottenham wanted to sign in January
Jamie Carragher has now been discussing the form a player Tottenham Hotspur really wanted to sign in January.
Ange Postecoglou’s side did enjoy a productive transfer window, even if they did face their fair share of frustration too.

A deal for Antonio Nusa seemed to be progressing well, only for interest from Brentford to gazump any move.
Moreover, Jacob Ramsey was also thought to be a target, but it seems there was eventually little gusto behind any deal.
That being said, Tottenham have long been said to have interest in Chelsea player Conor Gallagher.
It’s a peculiar situation, Chelsea are said to be willing to sell their stand-in captain, even if he wants to stay and be a key part of their project.
But all the while the situation harps on, it’s no surprise that clubs will be keeping a close eye.
That being said, Jamie Carragher was discussing Gallagher’s form on Sky Sports’ last night.
Carragher was assessing Chelsea’s midfield three, and would seem to agree that Gallagher would have been a good pick up for the likes of Tottenham in January.

The pundit was assessing both Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo alongside Gallagher.
And perhaps Spurs fans will feel relieved that their club haven’t made any faux pas in the transfer market of late, akin to the deal for Caicedo.

Carragher said: “[Moises] Caicedo has now come into the team, I still think he’s found it difficult, I haven’t been impressed with him at all.
“For me right now, I’d still say Conor Gallagher out of those three has been the one who’s impressed me the most for Chelsea this season.”
Of course, Spurs’ interest in Gallagher could easily stretch to the summer, where his situation at Chelsea will surely be assessed again.
Perhaps a asking price of around £50m will still prove too much by Tottenham’s reckoning, as it appeared to do so previously.
But perhaps Tottenham’s scouting staff will agree with Carragher’s summary, and that interest won’t simply fade away with the January window now concluded.
That being said, Spurs are already being linked with a ‘superstar’ signing this summer.
