Jamie Carragher gives brutal verdict on Man United’s Marcus Rashford and says it’s time to leave

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is in the headlines once again but Jamie Carragher has now suggested that it’s time we all stopped speaking about him.

Rashford was left out by Ruben Amorim for the Manchester derby this weekend and in the end, Amorim was justified as they won 2-1.

Amorim spoke of standards and other matters he’s observed with Rashford.

Indeed, there are suggestions that both Amorim and Jim Ratcliffe want to sell Rashford, with United looking for a clean break from the forward.

However, according to Jamie Carragher, it’s not even that big of a deal as the former Liverpool man questioned whether Rashford is even in United’s best XI.

Jamie Carragher’s honest verdict on Marcus Rashford

Asked about Rashford being left out and how significant it was, Carragher suggested the manager has made a point and that ultimately, Rashford will need to leave.

“I think it’s significant in that it’s early on we see this with most managers who want to send a message about standards.

“I think in some ways it feels like a bigger decision than it actually is because in some ways the message is he’s left Marcus Rashford out. But is he even in the best XI?” Carragher said.

“I mean how good is he? We’re not talking about a world renowned superstar here. I think we talk about Marcus Rashford too much, to be totally honest. I think he’s a good player, he’s been a great player for United but it is time for him to leave the club. But whether there’ll be any takers with the wages, who knows.”

Amad Diallo has embarrassed Marcus Rashford and it’s time to move on

While nearly every story about Marcus Rashford is one filled with negativity or distraction, another young player at the club, Amad Diallo, has shown him up recently.

Diallo’s performances have been that of a player desperate to prove a point.

Diallo has shown Rashford is not needed at Old Trafford and it’s clear now that the new management team feel the same way.

Indeed, such has been the Ivorian’s rise, that Rio Ferdinand claimed Diallo was actually written off by United coaching staff a long time ago.

For Marcus Rashford, it’s just gone full circle and it looks like being in everyone’s best interests if he gets a move elsewhere.
