Jamie Carragher angry with Dominik Szoboszlai’s unprofessional actions during Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool
Liverpool enjoyed a fine afternoon at Old Trafford as Arne Slot watched his side record a 3-0 win over Manchester United.
Two goals from Luis Diaz and a strike from Mohamed Salah saw Liverpool make it nine points from a possible nine in the Premier League – scoring seven goals without conceding one.
However, there was one unsavoury moment which led Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville to heavily criticise Liverpool No.8 Dominik Szoboszlai…
Why Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were furious with Dominik Szoboszlai
As Liverpool led Manchester United by three goals to nil, a golden chance to go 4-0 up arose as the ball rolled towards Szoboszlai inside the box.
It seemed as if the Hungary international simply had to put his foot through the ball to score Liverpool’s fourth goal of the day, but the £60m man inexplicably decided to take several touches before losing possession, almost as if to take pity on Manchester United.
It was a moment which sparked anger on the commentary gantry.
Firstly, Carragher could be heard moaning “what is he doing” after seeing what Szoboszlai did, before Neville added that the Hungarian was “taking liberties there” after seemingly trying to walk the ball into Andre Onana’s goal.
The Sky Sports duo did not stop there, however.

Neville continued, saying Szoboszlai “should get a rollocking from his teammates” after deciding not to shoot, as Carragher replied “ridiculous, unprofessional” when the moment appeared on replays.
Liverpool No.8 had a fine game aside from this odd moment
It was truly surprising not to see Szoboszlai, who Liverpool believe can play in the No.6 role, shoot against Manchester United, although the 23-year-old still delivered a fine performance nonetheless.
The man from Székesfehérvár did remarkably well to hear a shout from Diaz and arch his head out of the way, in order for the Colombia international to nod beyond Onana and put Liverpool 1-0 ahead.

Szoboszlai also provided the assist for Salah’s goal, completing of his passes while winning three tackles – as SofaScore shows – on a day where he proved to be a real force in the transition for Liverpool.
Hopefully, the Liverpool No.8 packs his shooting boots next time, as he can unleash a real rocket of a strike.
