Jamie Carragher and Tammy Abraham message Ross Barkley after Aston Villa move
Ross Barkley has uploaded a post on where he claims he’s got a “big season ahead” for Aston Villa.
The versatile midfielder completed a move on Wednesday to Villa Park on a season-long loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Barkley, who has left Stamford Bridge in search of more regular game-time, is a box-to-box midfielder that can be used in more attacking positions or he can arrive from deep.
The English playmaker scored five goals and managed five assists in 31 appearances last season for Chelsea, which is fairly impressive considering he only completed the full 90 minutes nine times.
He is looking to force his way back into the England squad with the European Championships taking place next summer, something that his new teammate Jack Grealish will also be looking to achieve.
Barkley has sent a message on social media following the completion of his move to Villa.
TBR’s View:
Barkley has taken the right step to leave Chelsea on loan, as he’s a talented individual that would start for many teams in the Premier League and it will be a surprise if he isn’t thrown straight into the Villa XI.
The 26-year-old is going to bring some more X-factor to Dean Smith’s side with his technical ability on the ball and his goal threat, which is why it looks another impressive piece of business this summer from the Midlands club.
With Douglas Luiz sat at the base of midfield, there could be a brilliant engine room of John McGinn and Barkley sat in front of him.
