James Pearce reveals what Liverpool have told him about Trent Alexander-Arnold recently
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be involved in one of the transfer sagas of the season.
The right-back is entering the final year of his contract, and Real Madrid are said to be interested in the defender.
It was reported last week by that Liverpool have given up on getting Alexander-Arnold to sign a renewal.
However, Liverpool have been quick to deny those reports according to James Pearce speaking on the Walk On Podcast.
Indeed, according to Pearce, Liverpool were absolutely adamant that those reports out of Spain were nothing more than just paper talk.

Liverpool deny Trent Alexander-Arnold reports
Pearce shared what he’s been told by Liverpool about these Alexander-Arnold reports.
The journalist claims that Liverpool were adamant that they haven’t given up on signing Trent Alexander-Arnold to a new deal.
“Yeah, you could also say it gets awkward for Liverpool as well, the longer it carries on because, of course, with every passing week and with every month that goes by, the chances of a player staying put when they’re inside the final of the year, their contract diminish, don’t they?” Pearce said.
“So I know Liverpool were adamant last week that those reports in Spain that suggested that they’d already given up essentially and would resign to him leaving at the end of the season when his contract expires. Liverpool were adamant that’s not the case.”
What is Alexander-Arnold’s plan?
As of yet, Alexander-Arnold’s mind isn’t made up, at least not publicly.
Real Madrid are keen on the defender, and Alexander-Arnold is good friends with Jude Bellingham, which may sway his decision.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Alexander-Arnold may still sign a new deal at Anfield if the offer is right.
“Trent will have negotiations and will keep discussing with Liverpool their project, the idea they have, what they want at the club in the next years. It will also be about money, but the main focus is the project. The priority will be for Liverpool, Liverpool will have the chance to extend the contract of Trent,” Romano said.
Alexander-Arnold still has a long way to run on his deal, and while this is a priority for Liverpool, it’s not until January until the alarm bells really need to start ringing at Anfield.
It remains to be seen whether or not Alexander-Arnold signs a new deal with Liverpool, but, right now, the situation is still very much open.
