Celtic suffered a 4-3 defeat to Real Betis on Thursday in the Europa league and James McFadden has criticised Albian Ajeti, suggesting he was lazy.
Ajeti opened the scoring for Celtic on Thursday night at Betis, netting his third goal in two games. He got a brace against Ross County on Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou was forced to name a side that included numerous youngsters and fringe players. Adam Montgomery was handed a start.
There were also starts for Ajeti, Filipe Jota, Ismaila Soro and new defensive signings Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josip Juranovic. Joe Hart was captain.
Speaking after the match, ex-Scotland star McFadden lambasted Ajeti despite his goal. He criticised the Swiss forward for his lack of work rate.
“Celtic are missing Kyogo’s work rate. Ajeti is just standing up front waiting for the ball to come. He has to press Betis a bit more,”

Ajeti needs to work harder. Yes, he has scored a few goals – but he needs to be showing more when it comes to his all-round play.
Costing Celtic £4.5million (), Ajeti has got to do more then score the odd tap in. Especially under the new-look tactics of Postecoglou.
His high press system means the strikers need to act as the first line of defence. Ajeti’s lack of work rate means he simply does not suit Celtic.
However, if he improves his work rate, then he has everything else needed to shine under Postecoglou. McFadden is right, his work rate must improve.
