James Maddison shares how he really feels about Neal Maupay now
James Maddison is quite the character in the Premier League.
The midfielder is never afraid to speak his mind in post-match interviews, and he’s always happy to give his thoughts on social media.
However, Maddison’s outspoken nature and popularity does make him a target sometimes, and we saw that on a few occasions last season.
Bukayo Saka mocked Maddison’s darts celebration after scoring in the north London derby last term, while Neal Maupay did similar when he scored for Brentford against Spurs.
In true Maupay fashion, the Frenchman has been milking that moment ever since, and speaking to Optus Sport, Maddison has now shared his feelings on Maupay’s antics.
How James Maddison feels about Neal Maupay
Maddison shared his feelings on Maupay.
“That celebration is iconic, and Bukayo isn’t the only one to have copied it. Neal Maupay is still making the most of it on social media. How do you feel about all of that?” Maddison was asked.
“I have no feeling towards that to be honest. I was more annoyed about the fact we conceded on the night. If he’s trying to milk it a bit more now that’s up to him. It’s a distant memory in my mind, I’ll be honest with you,” Maddison said.

Neal Maupay needs to focus on football
Neal Maupay is one of the more bizarre characters in football these days.
His social media is littered with all sorts of jokes about his own team, his opponents and his peers.
The Frenchman is clearly trying to get himself in the spotlight with these antics, but, realistically, he just needs to focus on his football.
Maupay’s form over the past few years hasn’t been the best, and while there’s nothing wrong with showing a bit of character online, the striker can’t talk the talk if he isn’t walking the walk.
Maupay needs to focus on his football rather than rambling on about incidents that happened months ago.
