James Maddison sends message to £30m midfielder Tottenham tried to sign

James Maddison has a number of close friends in football.

The midfielder seems to be a very popular player and he’s often showing how close he is with his teammates on Instagram.

Of course, Maddison spent a large portion of his career at Leicester City, so he’s still very close with a number of his teammates from that time period.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall celebrated his birthday this week, and Maddison sent him a message on social media to celebrate.

Maddison noted that he really misses Dewsbury-Hall after the two players parted ways last summer with Maddison’s move to Tottenham.

Interestingly, this comes just a few months after Tottenham reportedly tried to sign Dewsbury-Hall.

James Maddison’s message to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

on Instagram that read:

“Happy birthday brother! Miss you son.”

Maddison is still clearly very close with his former Leicester City teammate, and, in another world, they could’ve been playing together at Tottenham.

Of course, Maddison and Dewsbury-Hall are now rivals after the latter made a move to Chelsea rather than Spurs this summer.

However, despite the rivalry between Tottenham and Chelsea, it appears these two are happy to publicly remain friends.

Maddison and Dewsbury-Hall are still close

Despite no longer being teammates and playing for two clubs that are rivals, it would appear that Maddison and Dewsbury-Hall are still close friends.

It’s interesting to see a Chelsea and Tottenham player interact like this, because in years gone by, this would’ve caused a bit of uproar.

Indeed, footballing rivalry used to be so fierce that players from rival teams could barely even socialise off the pitch, but now, there seems to be more acceptance that footballers are simply human beings.

Maddison and the man are great mates, and it will be interesting to see how they interact when Tottenham and Chelsea go head-to-head later this season.
