James Maddison says £15m Tottenham player was ‘absolutely outstanding’ vs Fulham
James Maddison has lauded Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after his display for Tottenham Hotspur against Fulham last night.
Maddison spoke to after bagging a goal as Tottenham beat Fulham 2-0 in North London on Monday night.
Hojbjerg was handed his first Premier League start of the season as he replaced the suspended Yves Bissouma.
The 28-year-old has struggled for minutes this season while Bissouma has starred for Spurs in the middle of the park.

But the Dane put in an assured display and while Spurs missed Bissouma’s ability on the ball at times, Hojbjerg offered them something completely different in midfield.
The man’s range of passing was a huge weapon for Tottenham on the night and his performance certainly impressed James Maddison.
Maddison says Hojbjerg was ‘outstanding’ against Fulham
Maddison was asked about Hojbjerg’s display and it’s fair to say the Englishman liked what he saw.
“Touching on Pierre, I thought he was absolutely outstanding tonight,” he said. “It’s not easy to come into the team when you haven’t played very much, especially to replace Biss who’s been brilliant.
“So big credit to him, he was like a rock in there today and obviously instrumental in my goal. Fair play to him and all the lads who come on done well.”

Hojbjerg put in an industrious display in midfield and proved he can play in a Postecoglou side.
It shouldn’t come as a massive surprise to Spurs fans given he had already put in some encouraging performances from the bench this season.
Postecoglou will have a decision to make on Friday evening as Tottenham travel to Selhurst Park.
Bissouma will be available for selection once again and the Aussie boss has preferred a midfield three of the Mali international, Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr.
But after Hojbjerg’s display last night, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him keep his place in the side over Bissouma or Sarr.
