James Maddison left very frustrated with £15m Tottenham teammate vs Newcastle
James Maddison was spotted pleading with one of his Tottenham Hotspur teammates to offer more against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou’s game plan was completely outdone by Eddie Howe on this occasion, which put a real dent in the visitor’s top four hopes.

James Maddison looked as frustrated as anyone in a Spurs shirt, desperate to reignite his own form as much as those around him.
Of course, Maddison did have the chance to join Newcastle on multiple occasions over the past few years, instead preferring a move to north London.
Maddison has bought into the idea of being the star man in Postecoglou’s side, but his current performance levels aren’t living up to the standards he set earlier in the season.
The England international was so authoritative with his playmaking prior to his injury, but is now only on the cusp of games, even if he is still delivering a delightful moment or two.
That being said, Maddison appeared to be directing his frustration towards one Tottenham teammate in particular in the defeat against Newcastle.
James Maddison was desperate for Tottenham teammate Timo Werner to do more
According to a report by the , James Maddison could be seen pleading with Timo Werner to do more at one point in the game.
Werner did actually scupper a golden chance for Tottenham early in the game, when it felt like things could have gone so differently.

Maddison will be forgiven for being frustrated with himself and his teammates, it was that kind of day, but lessons do need to be learned.
And the prevailing issue of the day seemed to be Spurs’ midfield.
There’s a big problem in the middle of Ange Postecoglou’s team
Yes, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero made some calamitous mistakes and decisions, but they were all born out of the lack of protection in front of them.
Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur were so high up the pitch at times, and that’s fine as long as there’s sufficient pressure on the ball.
However, at times Bissouma could be seen almost in the perfect position, but still allowed play to progress dangerously in transition.
And when the likes of Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon are left in one versus one situations, it’s only going to end one way.
Tottenham need to stick together right now, and Maddison will be the first to remind his teammates of that.
And although Aston Villa’s win at the Emirates will have only made the defeat feel even worse, there’s still so much to play for.
That being said, Micah Richards has aired his concern in regard to the form of one Tottenham player.
