Jadon Sancho comments on Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has tipped Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster for the top, after the forward notched another pre-season goal.

The Reds teenager converted a penalty against Sancho’s Bundesliga outfit during the 3-2 defeat on Saturday, taking his personal tally to four in three.

Brewster is making up for lost time after he sustained a serious injury against Manchester City’s U23s in January 2018.

His awkward fall damaged ankle ligaments, and he also had to undergo surgery on his knee.

Now back in the picture, many are expecting 2019/20 to be Brewster’s breakout year, including his U17 World Cup-winning teammate Sancho.

The ex-Manchester City ace said (): “I feel like he can do it. I have played with him. I know how good he is. He causes defenders nightmares.

“He is a great player. I feel like he is at the right club, he is developing and he is still so young.”

TBR’s view

It’s looking as though Jurgen Klopp will entrust Brewster with a backup role at Anfield in 2019/20.

There has been very little talk about a loan move elsewhere, and the 19-year-old will surely be delighted to finally get a chance in the Reds’ first-team.

During Brewster’s time on the sidelines, Sancho has gone on to establish himself as one of world football hottest young prospects. After his campaign that produced 13 goals and 19 assists, Dortmund now value the winger at at least £100 million ().

With Brewster’s injury nightmare now behind him, maybe the London-born youngster will start to come more into the spotlight and maybe even experience a Sancho-style rise.
