Jadon Sancho and Tammy Abraham send messages to Aston Villa star on Instagram

Ezri Konsa posted his delight on Instagram after the Aston Villa defender netted the only goal of the game in a narrow 1-0 win over Sheffield United at Villa Park – and Jadon Sancho, Tammy Abraham and John McGinn have all responded.

In a copy of the fixture that welcomed Premier League football back after the restart earlier this year, Villa were handed an early boost as Blades captain John Egan was sent off following a last-man tussle with Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

In what was deemed a harsh sending off, Villa still had a tough task of beating last season’s surprise package. Sheffield United were awarded a penalty. A beautiful pass from Oli Burke saw Matt Targett bring down Chris Basham.

But John Lundstram saw his penalty saved by Emi Martinez on the Argentine’s debut. A Targett corner was flicked on by Tyrone Mings in the second half, allowing Konsa to head home. He posted on Instagram after his goal and the win.

Konsa, who is still only 22, is developing a reputation as somewhat of a goalscoring defender in his early spell as a Villa player. Clocking up 32 outings since his move from Brentford last summer, his goal on Monday night was his third in Villa colours.

Certainly, his performances caught the eye of Borussia Dortmund superstar Sancho and Chelsea striker Abraham – who commented on his Instagram post, while McGinn posted a sarcastic comment.
