Jack Harrison praises “unbelievable” Leeds teammate after Burnley victory

Jack Harrison heaped praise on Leeds United teammate Kalvin Phillips for his weekend performance in the Premier League win against Burnley.

The Whites produced a clinical display at Turf Moor to secure a 4-0 away victory at Burnley on Saturday.

Mateusz Klich, Harrison and Rodrigo (two) were all on the scoresheet, as visitors Leeds were too powerful going forward with their pace and directness.

It means that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are sat 10th in the table with 53 points after a brilliant return to the top flight.

Harrison was left amazed by the individual display of Whites midfielder Phillips, highlighting some of his “unbelievable” passes:

“He’s a class player. You can see why he’s been brought up to the England squad,” .

“Some of the passes he made today were unbelievable, that next calibre of player. He’s a great addition for us.”

Phillips, 25, was restored to the Leeds starting XI against Burnley, and it was like he had never been away.

The England international put in the kind of contribution that supporters have become so used to seeing from him, as he strolled around in the centre of the pitch controlling tempo in possession and hitting some superb long passes.

As well as that, the defensive midfielder did the hard work and disrupted Burnley going forward.

There were plenty of sceptics that were unsure when Phillips was called up to the England squad before he had even kicked a ball in the Premier League, but now there will be outrage if he’s left out of the Three Lions group for this summer’s European Championships.
