Jack Clarke update given as new bid made following interest from Ipswich and Southampton

Sunderland face a battle to keep Jack Clarke at the club in the remaining eight days of the summer transfer window.

Jack Clarke has firmly established himself as one of the best wingers in the Championship over the last few seasons.

The 23-year-old scored 15 goals whilst laying on four assists last season and is already off the mark this term, netting against Cardiff in Sunderland’s opener.

So it’s little surprise to see interest from the Premier League gathering and now Sky Sports have just provided the latest on his situation.

“Sunderland have turned down bids from both clubs and have had interest from elsewhere in this window.

“However, Ipswich have in the last 48 hours returned with an improved offer worth £15m plus performance-related add-ons.

“Clarke is a player Kieran McKenna has watched and admired since he became Ipswich boss.
