‘I’ve seen him’… Ben Parker says he always sees £5m Leeds player doing extra work in the gym on his own
Ilia Gruev is growing in confidence at Leeds.
𒉰The Bulgarian didn’t feature all that much at the beginning of the season, but, as of late, he’s cemented himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet at Elland Road.
Gruev has been fantastic in recent weeks for Leeds♛, and while it may look as though he’s just appeared from nowhere, a lot of hard work has gone into this run of form.
Indeed, speaking on the , Ben Parker has been discussing Gruev’s🧸 improvement, and he says that during his time in and around the Leeds training ground, he often sees the man in the gym on his own doing extra work to improve his game.

𒊎“I think he’s fantastic. Going back to the point you’re making about Daniel Farke calling him an ultimate professional. The amount of times I’ve seen him doing extras in the gym on his own, this is the time when he wasn’t playing, he wasn’t getting any minutes, and it goes to show the hard work does pay off,” Parker said.

🍃However, these rises to prominence often come off the back of tons of hard work, and while Gruev could’ve been disheartened by his lack of minutes early in the season, he’s kept his focus and his hard work is now paying off.
𒉰Gruev’s spot in the team seems to be secure from here on in, and he will surely have a huge part to play if Leeds are indeed to get that much-coveted top-two finish this season.
