‘I’ve just seen’…Gary Neville noticed Manchester United star was ‘really annoyed’ with his teammates vs Spurs

Gary Neville spotted one Manchester United star looked really frustrated on a couple of occasions during the first-half against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s side were pegged back on two occasions at Old Trafford. Rasmus Hojlund had given them the lead with his second Premier League goal. And Marcus Rashford put the home side back in front before half-time.

However, Tottenham were surely the better side over the course of the evening. Perhaps Manchester United struggled to cope with the visitors’ intensity. Certainly, Christian Eriksen was not impressed by how his teammates used possession at times.

At one stage before the break, Gary Neville told (broadcast on 14/1; 17:03) that he noticed the Denmark international show his frustration with United’s lack of composure when trying to break out from the back.

“I’ve just seen Christian Eriksen a couple of times get really annoyed when Manchester United win the ball back, and not be braver to play that first pass through midfield,” he said.

Midfielder having a poor time

Eriksen should arguably look closer to home when it comes to criticism. The 31-year-old had a really poor game against his former club.

According to , Eriksen completed just 11 passes during his 58 minutes on the pitch. Bryan Gil, on the other hand, completed 10 despite only coming on in the 80th minute.

Gary Neville was critical of Eriksen during the recent clash with Nottingham Forest. He suggested that his passing was extremely disappointing.

Eriksen was incredibly quiet once again on Sunday. And Manchester United lost the midfield battle up against Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Unfortunately for United, they have a number of problems to sort right now. And the lack of presence they often seem to have in the middle of the park is one of the issues Erik ten Hag has to address as soon as possible.
