‘I’ve heard today’: Arsenal could move for ‘incredible’ midfielder, easier to sign than Youri Tielemans – journalist

that Arsenal could move Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo as he’s easier to sign than Youri Tielemans.

Reports have suggested that Arsenal could yet make a move to sign Leicester City’s Tielemans before the window shuts.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Belgian throughout the window but have not yet firmed up their interest.

But it seems they could now try to sign the ‘incredible’ Melo instead. And it’s an easier deal to pull off, according to Jones.

Arsenal could move for Melo

.

“[Youri] Tielemans, I believe you can probably get for £25 million from what I hear, so that’s still on the table and obviously one they’ve been looking at,” he said.

“The thing that I’ve heard today is that Arthur’s agents have been touting him around the Premier League again. Everton have been strongly linked in the past couple of days, he will have been offered to them.

“But there are other clubs too that Arthur is being offered to from Juve and it won’t surprise me at all if one of those is Arsenal.

“Arsenal have been considering Arthur for a while. In terms of finances it’s much easier to do than Tielemans, it’s basically nothing.

“And that’s one that we should probably keep in mind as an option for Arsenal as we head into these last couple of days. Interesting one, it’s definitely something to think about.”

Arsenal’s lack of depth in midfield has been highlighted over the last week after injuries to Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey.

Arteta may now be forced to play Sambi Lokonga or Oleksandr Zinchenko in midfield against Aston Villa tomorrow.

After the recent injuries, it seems likely that Arsenal will now look at bringing in another midfielder and Arthur could be a decent option.

The Brazilian has fallen out-of-favour at Juve after an underwhelming spell since making the switch from Barcelona.

But the 26-year-old is undoubtedly a talented player and could be a decent fit for Arteta’s style at Arsenal.

With Juve keen to sell, Arthur could be available at a cheap price and would provide the depth that Arteta is looking for.
