Lascelles has been on the books of Newcastle since 2014 when he joined from Nottingham Forest.

The 30-year-old English defender is out of contract at the Magpies in the .

Jones told about Lascelles: “I’ve heard that Jamaal Lascelles, there are some doubts around him and he could even end up being made available.”

My View: Newcastle United should keep Jamaal Lascelles

In my opinion, Newcastle United should not sell Jamaal Lascelles now.

Since the defender is out of contract in just a few months, Newcastle are not going to get much transfer fees for him this month.

Lascelles is a very good and experienced player, and with Eddie Howe’s side still in the race for a place in the Premier League top four, he will be needed in the second half of the season.

The defender has made 12 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle this season. He has scored one goal in those games.

Lascelles, who was described as “unbelievable” by his Newcastle teammate Dan Burn earlier this season, played five times in the UEFA Champions League for the Magpies this season.
