‘I’ve done very little’: 28-year-old Leeds player admits he’s been struggling to run over the past week

Patrick Bamford has admitted that he has been struggling to run over the past week .
Bamford struggles
Bamford first picked up an injury problem just over a week ago, when he damaged his ankle in a game against Newcastle United.
The striker sat out of Leeds’ last match against West Ham United and now looks set to miss out on playing against Watford this weekend.
But Bamford has suggested that he is optimistic that he will be able to return to the training ground in the near future.
“It’s been about 10 days now since I did it and in that 10 days I’ve done very little,” Bamford said.
“Since I injured it I’ve been able to walk fine, it’s a little bit sore if I walk for an extending period, but I’ve been able to walk fine.
“It’s just the running and the pushing up on my toes. I shouldn’t but I keep testing it out every day to see if it’s getting a bit better.
“It’s not ready to run on yet, I tried it today, but I imagine within the next 10 days I’ll be able to run.”

Rodrigo to start?
Rodrigo actually performed fairly well in Bamford’s absence against West Ham, despite Leeds’ defeat.
The Spaniard looks more comfortable as the focal point of Leeds’ attack, rather than as a number 10.
However, when Bamford is fit again he will surely come straight back into Marcelo Bielsa’s starting line-up.
Bamford is such a vital cog in Leeds’ line-up nowadays, with his work-rate and goalscoring ability both key to the way Bielsa’s side sets up.
Leeds are still searching for their first win of the season currently, having made a slow opening to the campaign.
