‘I’ve been pretty disappointed’… Pundit says one Manchester United man has proven him completely wrong
Stephen Warnock has suggested that one Manchester United man has really proven him wrong by being a real disappointment at Old Trafford.
It seems that very few were inspired by Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Everton at the weekend. Penalties from Bruno Fernandes and𒐪 Marcus Rashfor🥂d saw United secure the three points.
There were a few bright displays, with Alejandro Garnacho amongst those to impress. However, Old Trafford largely remains uninspired. And with that, questions over the future of Erik ten Hag remain.

The Dutchman has been unable to take the team forward this season. And with INEOS making more and more appointments behind the scenes, some would ꦺclearly be surprised to see ten Hag stay at Manchester United next season.
Stephen Warnock was asked on about ten Hag’s future. And while he clearly 🅷suggested that the former Ajax boss is far from being the only problem, he insisted that he is not the right person to take the club forward.
“I think it’s going to be extremely difficult because I don’t think he’s the right man. I thought he was💟 at the time. But I’ve been pret✨ty disappointed if I’m being honest,” he said.
“Last year, Liverpool weren’t gr𝕴eat. I think they capitalised on that and got into the top three, qualified for the Champions League. But this season they’ve struggled. And I look at ten Hag, you’ve got to do more. There’s got to be more from you.
“There’s too many injuries at the club, whether that’s behind the scenes or poor signings where they haven’t done their homework on the players. But the other side of things is, if you go and get a new manager, now you’re dealing with predominantly the same ꦓplayers, unless you can shift a few in and out. But they’re under financial constraints as well because they’ve spent heavily since ten Hag’s come in. Big problems there.”
Club will hope right foundations are now being put in place
As Warnock suggests, replacing ten Hag wꦡill not automatically address all of the club’s issues. They have tried several different managers over the last decade, with only glimpses of success coming along the way.
Ten Hag was impressive with Ajax, taking them to a Champions League semi-final. So it appeared to be a choice which made a lo꧑t of sense. And his first season was promising.
So th✅ere will be concerns that their next appointment could go a similar way if they make a bright start.
Having said that, it appears that United are making some smart appointments behind the scenes. So perhaps the manager next season, whoever that is, will find the foundations much easier to work 🐼from.
