‘I’ve been practising’: Everton player admits he’s been working so hard on his shooting in training recently

Everton winger Anthony Gordon has now admitted to that he’s been working so hard on his shooting in training recently.

Gordon has been a standout performer at Goodison Park so far this season, having scored three Premier League goals for the Toffees.

Frank Lampard’s men have struggled to find the back of the net this season and despite being solid defensively, they sit in 17th place – just one point above the relegation zone.

The Toffees were in action today as Lamapard is putting his players through their paces at the Sydney Cuper Cup.

Everton thrashed Western Sydney Wanderers 5-1 and Gordon bagged an impressive hat-trick. After the game, the 21-year-old revealed that he has been working on his finishing in training.

“I have been practising that particular finish for the third goal with Joe (Edwards) so I am really proud to see it come to light,” .

“It shows my dedication because I have missed that chance over and over again.”

One of Gordon’s goals today was a real poachers effort, but he produced two brilliant finishes for the other two.

The youngster cut inside for the third goal and drilled a shot into the bottom corner from the left-hand side.

It’s brilliant for Gordon that his work in training is paying off and if there’s an area of his game he needs to work on, it’s definitely his end product.

Neal Maupay also got amongst the goals and Lampard will be hoping his forwards can continue this form when they return to action in the Premier League.

Everton have only managed one win in their last five games in the league and will be desperate to get off to a flying start when they host Wolves on Boxing Day.
