Ivan Perisic went straight over to talk to 22-year-old Tottenham youngster during drinks break against Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur new-boy Ivan Perisic went straight over to talk to Ryan Sessegnon during the first drinks break against Chelsea on Sunday.

approaching the 22-year-old during the break just after Chelsea took a 1-0 lead.

Sessegnon endured a tough game during Spurs’ 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Sunday and didn’t put in his best display before being substituted for Richarlison early in the second-half.

The 22-year-old was put through on goal by Harry Kane in the first-half but was denied by Edouard Mendy and often struggled to deal with Reece James and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

And during the first drinks break of the game, it seems that the Croatian may have been offering Sessegnon some advice.

And then Perisic is spotted walking straight up to Sessegnon to talk to him about the game.

It wouldn’t be the first time the Croatian has given the Spurs youngster some advice either. Just last weekend, Perisic told Sessegnon to arrive at the back post and the player then scored from doing exactly that against the Saints.

The pair are directly competing with each other for the wing-back spot but Sessegnon is clearly learning a lot from the 33-year-old.

Perisic came on as a substitute during the second-half for Heung-Min Son and grabbed an assist.

It was his first goal involvement since making the switch from Inter Milan on a free transfer this summer and the Croatia international may have staked his claim for a starting place this weekend against Wolves.

But Sessegnon did put in an excellent display against Southampton on the opening day and kept his place in the team above Perisic on Sunday.

It will be interesting to see who Conte picks for the next Premier League game but it can only be good for Sessegnon to learn from a player as experienced as Perisic.
