‘It’s true’… Yves Bissouma now shares how he really feels about Antonio Conte at Tottenham

The Antonio Conte era at Tottenham won’t be looked back on too fondly.

The Italian alienated a number of talented players during his time at Spurs, and one player who was hung out to dry by the former Chelsea boss was Yves Bissouma.

The man was barely used by the Italian during his time at Spurs, and it’s fair to say that he didn’t know how to get the best out of the midfielder.

Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, Bissouma has transformed, and now, speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, the midfielder has shared his honest verdict on Conte.

Bissouma did admit that he and Conte didn’t see eye to eye in terms of football, but the Malian maintains that he still has a lot of respect for the manager, even to this day.

Bissouma still respects Conte

Bissouma spoke about his former gaffer.

“There was a coach who didn’t see football the same way as you and that didn’t help?” Bissouma was asked.

“Yes, yes, of course. It’s true there was a coach, who I owe respect to because he helped me sign with Tottenham, we didn’t see football the same way. But he was the coach, the boss, and I have always shown him respect, even now,” Bissouma said.

Professional

Fair play to Yves Bissouma for speaking about Conte in this way

Let’s be honest, any player who was treated in that way by any manager would have every right to come out in the media and hammer their former boss for not seeing their talent and managing the team incorrectly.

However, Bissouma has shown Conte respect, regardless of whether he’s earned it, and he’s remained professional here.

In our view, Bissouma has every right to dislike Conte, but it would appear that he’s not in the business of holding grudges or burning bridges.
