‘It’s mad’: Some West Ham fans baffled by how Moyes is treating 28-year-old

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to complain about how David Moyes is treating Alphonse Areola at the London Stadium.
What’s the story?
Well, the France international joined West Ham on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.
However, Areola is yet to play a single second of competitive football for the east Londoners, leaving supporters baffled.
In that respect, his decision was justified, although you can understand where the West Ham fans are coming from.
When will Alphonse Areola play for West Ham?

The 28-year-old is only on a season-long loan, so when will he be given chances to impress the east Londoners?
Clearly, Moyes has no intention of making him the club’s Europa League glovesman, so we’re unsure when Areola will actually play.
Of course, this may well have been the arrangement. Fabiański – who is now 36 – plays this season, before Areola is signed permanently and plays next term.

Moyes might’ve just been keen to get the Frenchman to the London Stadium early, in order to help him settle into his surroundings.
This theory may have some truth to it, as West Ham have an the shot-stopper permanently in the summer of 2022.
For now, let’s see what the West Ham fans on Twitter have been saying about Areola…
What was Areola brought in for if Fabianski is starting all the games??

Areola is only on loan…literally pointless if we dont give him game time

I’m with him. This is the stage of the competition Aerola should play. He hasnt played in the league and if hes nots playing in Europa group stages, why did we spend the money to bring him in? Lukaz is great, but don’t want him playing bad because we didn’t rest him when we could

Been unreal in training aswell I don’t get it 😂

Exactly. Against the nearly biggest teams in Europe.I think he should start. It’s the perfect opportunity for him to start. But we don’t start him. It’s mad

Great lineup tonight, we’ve started brightly & the red seems to be letting the game flow & have a good element of physicality!

My only slight confusion is Areola not starting…but hopefully that means he will at the weekend!
