‘It’s lazy’: Gary Neville slams 23-year-old West Ham United player for what he did at Old Trafford today
Gary Neville slammed West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca for giving away a ‘lazy’ foul at Old Trafford today on .
The Hammers fell behind in the first-half after a brilliantly worked goal by Manchester United. Christian Eriksen delivered a pinpoint cross that was met by Marcus Rashford, who headed past Lukasz Fabianski.
But just moments before, Scamacca was on the receiving end of some criticism for giving away a needless foul.
The 23-year-old attempted to dispossess Rashford deep into his own half but was beaten by a clever piece of skill. The Italian brought the United attacker down and gave away a free-kick in a dangerous area.
And Neville slammed Scamacca after the moment in the 35th minute in Manchester today.

Neville slams Scamacca
“No, he didn’t want to defend. He didn’t want to get low, jockey,” .
“He just wanted to try and pinch it. It’s lazy from the striker.”
Scamacca was eventually replaced by Michail Antonio in the 56th minute after he was close to picking up a second yellow card.
The former Sassuolo man led with a high foot while challenging Lisandro Martinez for the ball. It was a disappointing evening for the Italian as he struggled to make an impact on the game.

West Ham did begin to cause Erik Ten Hag’s men some problems in the second-half and went close through Antonio and Kurt Zouma.
Antonio made a difference after coming off the bench as the Hammers looked more of a threat going forward after his introduction.
Jarrod Bowen and Declan Rice nearly earned Moyes’ side a point in stoppage time. Bowen’s effort looked to be heading in the bottom corner but was blocked by Harry Maguire.
Rice smashed a long-range effort towards the top corner only to watch David De Gea produce a brilliant save.
David Moyes’ side were unable to find an equaliser but put in a promising display against United today. The Scotsman will be disappointed to have not picked up at least a point as his side certainly deserved to take something back to London.
