‘It’s brilliant’: Arsenal ‘colossus’ says he’ll learn a lot from Leicester star on international duty
Arsenal gem Daniel Ballard has waxed lyrical about Leicester City star Jonny Evans as the two prepare to represent Northern Ireland in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The 21-year-old defender came through the ranks at the Emirates Stadium and is currently on loan at Blackpool, where he’s making a real name for himself.
To date, Ballard has made 18 appearances for the Seasiders – 16 in the league and two in the FA Cup – and has scored twice.

Last Saturday, the Hale End graduate netted his third senior career goal to cap a 2-0 win at Oxford United and stretch the Tangerines’ unbeaten run to nine games.
“A colossus,” the wrote of his efforts prior to joining up with Northern Ireland, rating him a solid 8 out of 10.
“Scored one, almost bagged another and dominated aerially throughout. Will be a miss on international duty.”
Ballard also shone during the last international break, earning two consecutive 9/10s for his displays against and in the UEFA Nations League.
The five-cap youngster is looking forward to training and potentially playing alongside Evans, who has made over 400 club appearances and has won 84 caps for NI.
“To play next to a player who has such experience at that top level helps massively,” Ballard told .
“When you see him play next to you you want to be like them and hope some of their traits rub off on you.

“It’s brilliant for my development and all the players around me have really helped me settle in.
“They’re always trying to help me improve and help me through the game. It’s nice to come into a team where there is such a good bond around the group.”
