‘It’s a pity’: Antonio Conte says Tottenham have a player who’s just ‘too strong’ for his own body

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte delivered some bad news to fans regarding Ryan Sessegnon yesterday.

Spurs look like they have turned things around after brilliant back-to-back wins over Leeds United and Everton. Tottenham scored nine goals in just those two games, which is the same as they managed in their previous seven league fixtures combined.

Conte will now be looking to carry that momentum forward but they have a very difficult game coming up against Manchester United on Saturday.

Spurs will be without Sessegnon for that game, who is now set to miss a few weeks due to injury.

Antonio Conte: Ryan Sessegnon is too strong for his own body

Speaking in his press conference yesterday ahead of this weekend’s game, Conte said, as per : “Yeah, we’re talking about not a new problem. We have to, with the medical department, find a solution.

“Sometimes though, there is a predisposition to have this type of problem.

“He’s very strong physically and sometimes it’s good to be strong for your body; sometimes it’s not when you’re too strong for your body.

“His performances were good, he was excellent and he was improving. He’s very frustrated. It’s very sad to see a player like this frustrated by these injuries. It’s a pity. Also, we have to work with him in the human aspect.”

It really is a shame that Sessegnon will miss a few games now. Conte revealed yesterday that there’s a chance he may return right after the international break, but that’s not certain either.

The Tottenham boss is not happy with injuries to his players. Conte hoped to see Oliver Skipp back in action just a week after he picked up a groin injury.

However, it has been about six weeks now and there’s no sign of him yet.

Conte will take his Spurs side to Old Trafford on Saturday and a win there will see them leapfrog the Red Devils in the Premier League table.
