‘It’s a hamstring’: Ange Postecoglou gives Pape Sarr injury update after Tottenham v Bournemouth

Tottenham might have beaten Bournemouth today but it came at a cost again as Pape Matar Sarr was the latest to go down injured.

Spurs have been ravaged by injuries this season already and it was no different today, as Sarr left the field in pain.

It was another cutting blow for Postecoglou and Tottenham, who had been buoyed moments earlier by the return to the starting XI of Rodrigo Bentancur.

The Uruguayan made it back much earlier than expected. However, as one returns, another goes, and it looks like Sarr might be missing for some time now.

Speaking to the after the game, Postecoglou has confirmed Sarr has picked up a hamstring injury.

It has been a constant for us. I’m disappointed for Pape [Matar Sarr], I’m not fully sure about the extent yet. It’s a hamstring, he’s gutted. We’ll have to let others step up,” Postecoglou said.

Pape Sarr injury a huge blow for Tottenham

Spurs’ rotten luck just seems to be continuing when it comes to injuries this season. They are having a nightmare and seem to be getting a new problem every game.

Hamstring injuries are always a problem as well and it looks like Sarr, given his reaction, might be fearing the worst here.

This season seems to be a complete write-off for a lot of teams with injuries. It’s worse than ever, and Tottenham are not the only side to suffer.

However, Ange will feel like he is suffering a lot more than other managers right now.

Quite frankly, the fact they remain just three points off the top is quite remarkable.

Hopefully, for both Sarr and Tottenham, this injury is not as bad as first feared and he can get back firing soon enough.

If not, and it is serious, then it might just affect Spurs’ January plans once again.
