Italy manager Luciano Spalletti shares what Liverpool have said about Federico Chiesa’s training
Federico Chiesa was Liverpool’s big signing of the summer transfer window, yet Anfield supporters will have to wait sometime before they can see the Italian in action.
The 26-year-old was hardly used by Juventus this summer in pre-season, with Chiesa arriving in Merseyside this summer with little match sharpness despite playing for Italy at Euro 2024 under Luciano Spalletti.
With the first international break of the season now here and Chiesa not called up for the Azzurri, the winger will have time to adjust to his new surroundings in Liverpool and to build up his fitness ahead of the return to league action next week.
And Spalletti has now shared what Liverpool plan to do with Chiesa in the coming days.

Liverpool to give Chiesa a specific training programme
Speaking to the press ahead of Italy’s UEFA Nations League fixtures, Spalletti confirmed that Liverpool will be giving Chiesa ‘specific preparation’ to build up fitness, with the winger set for a busy few sessions with the Reds.
Spalletti said about Chiesa staying with Liverpool this international break: “Chiesa and I spoke and made a fair assessment. I would have brought him as an extra player, not participating in the games. He told me that he had spoken to his new club and that he needs to do specific preparation work with them.”
With Chiesa a squad player last year for Juventus, the former ACF Fiorentina stat would benefit greatly from spending this international break at Liverpool where the Reds can really focus on the winger’s fitness.
And once club football is back, Chiesa could be ready to make his Liverpool debut at long last, with the attacker seemingly itching to get back onto the pitch and to prove to everyone what he is capable of.

Chiesa can become a star for Liverpool this season
Injuries and form have not been on Chiesa’s side in recent years, yet the Italian international has all the tools in his locker to become a legit star for Liverpool this season.
The 26-year-old is yet to even hit his peak yet has enjoyed a career that most players on the planet would be jealous about, with Chiesa a European champion with Italy at Euro 2020.
And for Liverpool, Chiesa can help Liverpool win even more silverware in the years to come, with the forward a world-class talent just waiting to be unleashed once again.
