‘It was really good’: David Moyes seriously impressed by West Ham man’s passing against Newcastle

West Ham United boss David Moyes has admitted that Said Benrahma’s pass to Michail Antonio impressed him more than his goal against Newcastle United, .
Creative influence
Benrahma scored West Ham’s second goal of the contest, as he got on the end of a cross from Antonio to head home.
But it was Benrahma’s passing which really caught the eye of Moyes.
Benrahma turned provider for West Ham’s final goal in their 4-2 win, as he released Antonio to score.
And Moyes said: “We want him to be really important. We brought him in with that intention last year.
“But sometimes it takes players a little while to settle in the Premier League and get used to it and us as well, and me.
“We’re beginning to see more from it, I liked his goal, but I really enjoyed his pass more to Michail Antonio. It was really good.”
Big season incoming?
Benrahma’s performance certainly offers encouragement that he could now be about to turn things around at the London Stadium.

The Algerian struggled to find his very best form last term, after his move from Brentford.
But there were flashes of real quality, and yesterday he produced one of his best performances in a West Ham shirt.
The Hammers’ attacking display has certainly offered encouragement that this season could be another productive one for David Moyes’ side.
West Ham claimed a European spot last term, and if they can continue to show such an attacking threat a similarly impressive finish could be on the cards this time around.
