Isaac Hayden reacts to return in York City defeat
Isaac Hayden has reacted on Twitter after Newcastle United lost 1-0 away to non-league York City.
The Geordies were defeated thanks to an 87th-minute strike from Michael Duckworth.
Hayden made his first appearance in over four months since he picked up a season-ending knee injury in the 3-0 loss to Brighton. The former Arsenal man played the full 90 minutes as he stepped up his recovery.
He was a regular in Steve Bruce’s side last season, featuring in 24 Premier League games. The Englishman’s return can boost the Magpies after Jonjo Shelvey’s recent absences.
Taking to in the aftermath of the loss, Hayden claimed it will take him time to return to his best.
Hayden said: “Huge workload week completed. Nice to get minutes in the bank after a long 4 months since last game. It will take a little bit of time, but the focus has to be being 100% ready for 4 weeks time.”
Meanwhile, he received a positive reception from supporters in his replies. one claimed he was a ‘definite plus’, whilst said he ‘deserves more’.
