Is this how Liverpool should approach the transfer window? feat. Bundesliga and La Liga stars

Liverpool have had mixed success over the years, drifting between an eighth-placed finish and a desperately close title charge in the space of three seasons. They have managed to pick up some silverware in that time – though let the record state, not nearly enough trophies – and they’ve spent big, but in truth, have seriously underachieved.

With Jurgen Klopp now at the helm, the future looks bright. Unfortunately for the Anfield faithful, despite a positive future, Liverpool have now been plunged back into a state that they’re all too familiar with: the transition period. Many a bygone Liverpool manager has overseen their own transitional period with varying degrees of success – from Roy Hodgson bringing in the likes of Milan Jovanovic, to Brendan Rodgers capturing Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho – but the fact is that none of these managers have seen that initial bedding-in phase turn successful after spending their millions and millions.

Klopp has a knack for spending wisely in the transfer market, and there’s likely to be funds available to him, especially after he’s shipped the players he deems to be deadwood out to make room for his next line of Liverpool stars.

The question remains, however, as to who should Klopp sign. Read on to see who I think should be discarded, and who should be brought in to improve the squad significantly.
