‘Real certainty’: Media rave about on aspect of Liverpool international’s performance this weekend
🌃Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher enjoyed a good display for the Republic of Ireland last night as they scrambled an impressive 2-2 draw with Belgium.
🉐A typically spirited and tenacious display from the Irish ensured they took a share of the spoils against one of the best teams in the world. Granted, Belgium had some big guns missing but for Ireland, it was still a big performance and result on the night.

ꦏIreland boss Stephen Kenny chose to go with Liverpool stopper Kelleher in goal and in the main, he was rewarded as the Reds goalkeeper held his own on the big stage once again. And in the Irish press, Kelleher’s performance also went down well.
꧟The praised Kelleher for his ability to use the ball well with his feet, writing:
“No chance with either goal. Got himself involved by coming for crosses but hadn’t a lot to do otherwise. Very safe with the ball at his feet, which must give his defenders real certainty. Rating: 6“
❀Meanwhile, the went with a similar line of Kelleher having little to do:
💦“No chance for either Belgian goal and frankly didn’t have too much to do beyond them. He’ll hope that Lithuania might provide him with a shot to save on Tuesday,” they wrote.
TBR’s View: Kelleher The Next Liverpool Number One
🉐He might have to bide his time with Alisson not going anywhere anytime soon, but Kelleher is doing himself no harm with how he’s performing of late.
💫The Irish stopper has been great when Liverpool have called on him and now when Ireland want him, he’s looking equally as cool and calm. Jurgen Klopp will be delighted to see it, and Kelleher should have a long and successful career at Anfield now.
