Ipswich fans react to performance of Arsenal loanee Mark McGuinness
Arsenal youngster Mark McGuinness made his debut for Ipswich Town last night and capped it with a Man of the Match performance for his temporary employers.
Ipswich defeated Gillingham 1-0 at Portman Road to return to winning ways after two losses in succession for Paul Lambert’s men.
The 21-year-old centre-back has been forced to wait patiently for his chance but grasped it with aplomb last night.
He played a starring role in Lambert’s team as they claimed an important three points.
McGuinness is an uncompromising defender and was making his first start in men’s football last night, although he has enjoyed a taste of that level in the EFL Trophy.

The Arsenal talent actually caught the eye of Ipswich when he captained the Arsenal under-21 side that beat the Tractor Boys in the competition.
Last night, McGuinness highlighted exactly why the League One hopefuls want to sign him with an array of quality defending.
Following his performance supporters of the club in the third tier took to Twitter to rave about his performance.
It would seem Arsenal have themselves a player who looks set for a bright future and Ipswich fans are looking forward to seeing him in action again.
Here is what the Tractor Boys fans were saying about McGuinness…
