Inter Milan reject Samuel Umtiti, opens door for Tottenham or Arsenal
Tottenham and Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Samuel Umtiti, with Inter Milan apparently not keen on taking the defender on a permanent deal.
A report from claims that although Inter does see value in Umtiti, they are wary of his injury record.

The defender has missed over 40 games over the course of the last two seasons. And while a summer move looks likely regardless, it appears Inter are not overly sold.
The claims that the Nerazzuri would potentially consider a loan deal. However, any notion of a permanent move is out of the question thanks to those aforementioned injuries.
Inter’s stance will be a blow to Barcelona. The Catalan giants are keen to offload Umtiti and were hoping to use him as bait in their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez.

It means, then, that the door could well be open for Jose Mourinho or Mikel Arteta to move. Both managers and their respective clubs have been touted as potential destinations for the Frenchman.

As other clubs continue to stutter when it comes to Umtiti, there has to be a chance that Spurs seize their moment now.
Umtiti has, as mentioned, struggled with injuries. However, at just 26 he’s plenty of time to make sure he’s fully over those knocks.
World Cup-winning defenders don’t come along too often on the market. And while the transfer market will be unstable this summer, Spurs could be getting a bargain.
The one stumbling block could be Umtiti’s wages. A report from claims that the central defender is on around €8m per year.
