Inter Milan could be forced to sell Milan Skriniar with Tottenham keen, but he’d rather join PSG – journalist

Inter Milan could be forced to sell Milan Skriniar, with journalist claiming Tottenham Hotspur are interested but he would rather join Paris Saint-Germain.

Antonio Conte will be keen to address Tottenham’s defensive fragility over the coming transfer windows, with the likes of Eric Dier looking shaky this season.

The Italian did bring in Clement Lenglet from Barcelona on a season-long loan over the summer, but he’s widely seen as a stop-gap signing while Spurs look at bringing in their top targets.

Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni over the summer, but the Italian centre-back was happy to remain at the San Siro.

Now, Jacobs says Bastoni is likely to remain at Inter, but there is an outside chance Spurs could turn their attention to his teammate, Skriniar.

Inter could sell Skriniar

, Jacobs said Tottenham are long-term admirers of Skriniar. But the 27-year-old has a preference to join PSG after being heavily linked with a move to France over the summer.

“Then you move into Milan Skriniar territory and maybe the good news for Tottenham, because they like him and Bastoni, is that Inter might have to sell,” the journalist said.

“Even though PSG were frontrunners all through the summer, they’ve never really managed to get a deal. But I don’t think Tottenham would be able to move for Skriniar unless they qualify for the Champions League because of the price-tag.

“There’s still a high likelihood that with PSG, which is Skriniar’s preference, not getting anything agreed either in January or for the summer, Skriniar might just end up signing a new deal and that will put him out of the market.

“I think these are two names [Bastoni and Skriniar] that are very much targets that Tottenham admire and definitely did more than just admire Bastoni in the summer.”

Skriniar has been a consistent performer at Milan since making a from Sampdoria. The Slovakian centre-back is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Italy and has been described as a ‘’ centre-back.

Of course, Spurs fans will remember all too well when the club were linked with a move for him while Jose Mourinho was in charge. The club ended up signing Joe Rodon instead after failing to secure a move for Skriniar.

Skriniar has played under Conte at Inter and the Spurs boss will know all too well about the potential quality he could bring to Spurs’ backline.

But it seems like PSG are in the strongest position to land him at the moment, while Chelsea and Liverpool are also said to be interested.
