Inter Milan considering paying £50m to sign ‘exceptional’ Aston Villa player

ston Villa might have made it into the Champions League last season but with that comes interest in some of their top players.

The Villans were rightfully the fourth placed team in England last season as Unai Emery worked his magic at Villa Park to bring Champions League football to the club.

Now, Villa are looking to add to their squad and they’ve already been busy this summer in making a number of new signings.

The likes of Ross Barkley and Samuel Illing-Jr have arrived, while Douglas Luiz has been one of the star names to be let go after being so key last season.

And now, according to reports over in Italy, Villa could be set for a battle to keep another one of their biggest stars.

Inter Milan plotting £50m bid for Pau Torres

According to a report from Italian outlet , Italian giants Inter Milan are planning on making a move for Torres.

The report suggests that Simone Inzaghi has his eyes on signing a very top central defender and that Villa’s Torres is one of the names on their list.

Luckily for Villa, it’s suggested that any move for Torres from Inter will come in 2025 due to financial constraints.

As we know, Torres played a key role for Villa last season and was lauded by Darren Bent as being ‘exceptional’ and going under the radar at times.

Further, England international Ezri Konsa has also been impressed by Torres, who played a key role in Emery’s team last season.

Villa paid more than in the first place and any potential sale is likely to come at a big cost.

The £50m mentioned here from Inter might well be enough but Villa and Unai Emery will be loathed to lose their top players really.

Inter, then, might well get a swift answer if they do make their move down the line.
