Insider now reveals the mystery German player Arsenal are expected to sign this summer
Arsenal fans who pay close attention to transfer activity will have surely heard rumours of the Gunners signing an unnamed German player this summer.
Speculation on social media has seen supporters guess a variety of names, ranging from Bayern Munich No.6 Joshua Kimmich, to bizarre shouts that it could even be Shkodran Mustafi.
Now – however – Arsenal insider Team News and Ticks has revealed the mystery man’s identity…
Leroy Sane is wanted by Arsenal
Apparently, Leroy Sane is the mystery German Arsenal are – or were – going to sign this summer.
When asked about the Bayern Munich No.10 on Patreon, Team News and Ticks : “I believe this is/was the mystery German. The other day, I got an update that it was off because Bayern Munich couldn’t secure their targets.”
It comes after Florian Plettenburg of Sky Sports threw Sane straight into the spotlight with an interesting post on X (previously known as Twitter) earlier on Monday.

It is said that the Germany international is not currently expected to leave the Allianz Arena this summer, although his contract situation is keeping Arsenal on red alert.
Sane has already entered the final 12 months of his contract with Bayern Munich, and while the winger is focused on staying in Bavaria, an agreement over fresh terms is just not materialising.
As a result, Arsenal have put the 28-year-old on their list.
Plettenburg adds that Mikel Arteta and Sane still hold a strong relationship from their time together at Manchester City, with a deal possible unless Bayern Munich find a breakthrough in contract talks.
Germany international would raise the levels at the Emirates Stadium
If Arsenal manage to secure Sane’s signature this summer, it would be the type of statement signing that raises everyone’s levels, much like when Liverpool signed Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.
The man from Essen is a truly world class winger, who impressively scored 25 goals and provided 29 assists in 90 Premier League appearances, winning two Premier League titles, during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
Sane, who Harry Kane called a “fantastic player”, is almost Arjen Robben like when cutting inside from the right on his stronger left foot, even netting against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final last season in that manner.

Therefore, while we are by no means suggesting that Bukayo Saka needs a wake up call, the German’s arrival would surely push the England international up a gear, knowing an elite talent is breathing down his neck.
Not only Saka, but others would also be left sweating, as Sane can play anywhere across the frontline.
