Rangers appear to be facing a tough task keeping Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox this summer. In case of the worst scenario, of the Colombian making a Glasgow exit, Gers boss Steven Gerrard and director of football Ross Wilson are working hard on identifying potential replacements and alternatives.
One name that keeps cropping up in this regard is that of Kemar Roofe.
Rangers were linked with a move for the forward last summer and a potential move to Ibrox has been mentioned again for this season.
Rangers are again keeping tabs on the English-Jamaican striker with his current club Anderlecht potentially open to a sale at the right price, suggested to be in the region of £5.4 million.

Undoubtedly, Roofe would be a fine recruit for Rangers. A genuine goal threat who can also operate from the wing, the 27-year-old would fit perfectly for Gerrard’s needs at Ibrox.
However, news this week regarding Roofe should be putting Rangers off of the deal.
Roofe is currently injured, and that is a familiar theme for the attacker.
He missed two large chunks of last season, including the final eight games of the campaign, with injury. In his previous season with Leeds United it was a familiar story. Roofe spent two important stages of the season on the sidelines. Now these aren’t big injuries, but niggling issues that tend to keep him out of action for one or two months.
Rangers cannot afford their main man in attack to have such absences. Morelos is rarely absent unless suspended and Gerrard will want a similar recruit if the Colombian leaves.
Roofe might not fit the bill.
