Injury boost as manager expects duo to be fit for West Brom-Leeds clash
Leeds United travel south to take on Championship promotion contenders West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Wednesday evening – and Slaven Bilic has claimed he could be about to welcome two crucial players back from injury.
Leeds finished 2019 on top of the table after a mouthwatering 5-4 win over Birmingham City, that saw the Blues equalise in the 92nd minute before the Whites scored a winner in the 95th – through an own goal by Wes Harding.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side sit on top thanks to goal difference, having conceded just 20 league goals in 25 games – four of which came against Birmingham on Saturday. It leaves Wednesday’s clash proving to be all the more important.
Now, Bilic has told that he expects two of West Brom’s most-important players to be fit for Wednesday’s league game, in the form of West Ham United loanee Grady Diangana and left-back Kieran Gibbs.
“They have a big chance,” Bilic said, when asked if either player would be fit to face Leeds. “They should be available. [With Gibbs at Barnsley] It was just cramp but obviously it was a big cramp.”

TBR’s view – Diangana against Ayling will prove to be a crucial clash
Arguably one of West Brom’s most-in-form players, against one of Leeds’ most reliable and consistent performers – the clash between Diangana and Luke Ayling will be an intriguing one.
Whoever comes out in top in that battle, is likely to have an impact on the entire match. Should Leeds keep Diangana quiet, the Whites will have solid chance of winning – given he is one of the Baggies most creative players.
